Air Source Heat Pumps

Heat your home from thin air

Air source heat pumps extract low-grade heat from outside air and upgrade it to warm your radiators, underfloor circuits and hot water. Designed properly, they deliver three to four units of heat for every unit of electricity — and we design properly, starting with a full room-by-room heat loss survey.

What we offer

Heat loss surveys

MCS-compliant room-by-room heat loss calculations so the unit is sized to your property rather than a rule of thumb.

Monobloc & split systems

Supply and installation of leading monobloc and split air source units, sited for airflow, noise and neighbour compliance.

Emitter upgrades

Radiator resizing and underfloor heating so the system runs at low flow temperatures where heat pumps are most efficient.

Hot water cylinders

High-performance unvented cylinders with large coil surface areas for fast reheat and reliable mains-pressure hot water.

Smart controls & zoning

Weather-compensated controls and zoning that keep the system running steadily instead of cycling on and off.

Servicing & optimisation

Annual servicing, refrigerant checks and flow-temperature tuning to keep running costs as low as the design allows.

Frequently asked questions

Will a heat pump keep my house warm in winter?+

Yes. Units are rated to operate down to around -15°C and we size the system against the coldest design temperature for your region, so it meets demand on the worst day of the year — not just an average one.

Do I need to replace all my radiators?+

Usually not all of them. Heat pumps run at lower flow temperatures, so some radiators need upsizing. Our survey identifies exactly which rooms need changes, and many properties need only a handful.

Are heat pumps noisy?+

Modern units run at roughly 40–50 dB at close range, comparable to a fridge. We assess placement against permitted development noise rules before installation.

How do running costs compare to gas?+

It depends on your tariff and how well the system is designed. A well-commissioned heat pump running at low flow temperatures on a heat pump tariff generally matches or beats gas, and carbon emissions are far lower.

Is my home suitable?+

Most homes are, but insulation matters. If your property leaks heat, we'll recommend insulation improvements first so the heat pump can be smaller, cheaper to run and more comfortable.

Can you help with grants?+

We advise on the funding available for heat pump installations and prepare the MCS documentation needed to support an application.
